Top 5 Drugstore Makeup

securedownload-1

As my love and passion grow for the makeup industry, it takes me further away from the makeup aisles at Target and Walmart and closer to brands such as Mac and Sephora. However, i still have a couple products I simply can’t part with and who dosn’t love affordable makeup? And with the that note lets begin!

  • 1st: Maybelline’s “The Colossal Volume Express” (waterproof).

Left-Packaged Right-Brush Style

Left-Packaged Right-Brush Style

This is one of my favorite makeup products by far. If I could only choose one item of makeup to wear this would be it. I use it everyday. In simple terms: No clumps & Beautiful Lashes. I get waterprrof mascara and this one seems to never run. Can i say love? I think so…

  • 2nd: Revlon Illumninance™ Creme Shadow

Outside Packaging/Inside/Swatches

This is great when you have no time for eyeshadow and want to just swipe a color on in seconds. This can also be used as a base to layer eyeshadow for more color and stay-a-bility. The swatches above show 2 matte colors and 2 shimmer/glimmer/glitter colors. Matte colors work extra great as a base, and the shimmer ones are perfect by themselves. As you can tell the third one is my favorite, I’m ADDICTED to the simplicity and colors.

  • 3rd: Hard Candy’s Sheer Envy Primer

Primer Package/Primer

Primer Package/Primer

I love candy in general and then I love Hard Candy’s Primer. Not only do I use this product everyday but it’s cost effective for a primer. Some primers run around 20-70$ WOW. This primer has SIMILAR ingredients to some of the expensive ones, so that in itself is a great reason to try this product out. This primer bottle literally lasts forever! Its a super light formula so it just glides on helping create a flawless face.

I know this isn’t necessarily makeup but… this is the BEST drugstore brushes I have found yet. So I thought I would share this hidden gem. This blush brush seems to do the job every single time. I use this everyday with no problems, such as No hair fall out, no clumps, and not irrupting my skin. Also this is ECO-FRIENDLY, so thats a plus. If anyone ever tells you drugstores brushes are junk, they just haven’t tried these out yet.

Review: B & BW Energy Orange Ginger Sugar Scrub

Want to feel super soft, smell great, and get a little pick-me-up of energy, all at the same time?

Well I decided to test the Bath and Body Works triple threat of a product to see if it actually does all of those things above.  And I honestly have come to the conclusion that I love this product.

So my experience with this scrub started when I was in the shower. I was about to open and use this product for the first time when I came to a small roadblock. No one of those huge road blocks that stop traffic for hours, on a hot sunny day, where everybody is screaming and yelling and secretly wishing that there was an ice cream truck near by. No this was one of those oops somebody’s garbage bag fell in the middle of the road, some nice guy stopped to take it off the road kind-of-road-block. Anyways for the life of me I couldn’t open the safety seal with my wet shower fingers. The only and only downside to this product; open when dry with scissors .

When you open this scrub, you can see how the sugar scrub sinks to the bottom and the oil rises to the top, the reason to this im sure I learned in Biology. Anyways I grabbed about a spoon full of the sugar and the oil, and rubbed it on my legs, arms, and feet. The nice thing about this scrub is it has sugar instead of salt which means it wont irritate cuts.

Dont take this lightly: I felt as soft as a cloud!

So scrub, breath, and rinse, and feel how soft your legs have become. My legs didn’t feel greasy after wards (thank goodness), I hate greasy moisturizer and makeup removers.

Coming out of the shower my skin felt soft and moisturized, I smelled delicious (I even got compliments that I smelled good!), and I felt happy, fresh, and energized. Aromatherapy sure does work!

Summary:

  •  Pros: True to what it says it will do, availability of this product is good, good customer service at the mall, big container, there is a whole line of orange energy Aromtherapy (if you fell in love with this and want more)
  • Cons: Seal can be hard to open if your fingers are wet (and you don’t have scissors) price is on the higher side
  • Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
  • Recommend?: Yes!
  • Re-Purchase?: Yes (:

How To: Sock Hair Bun

Hey Lovelies,

There are two type of people in this world, people who can naturally have luscious buns, and those who cannot. I unfortunately fall into the second category. I have thin hair that dosnt like to corporate. When i found out how to do a sock bun, my whole life did a 180. Instead of having flat hair the second day after a shower, i could simply put my hair in a bun. And making a sock bun was the EASIET way to make a cute bun. Weather  your looking for a quick hairstyle for school, or a chic look for a fancy event, this tutorial is gonna help you be the girl who “all the girls wanna be, and  all the boys wanna date ” .

And without further a do, i present the oh so famous Sock Hair Bun. da da da.

First, get a sock that is long, and cut off the toe part, as shown above. Make the cut as big as the other end of the sock.

Next, start at the end you did NOT cut, and start folding the sock into it’s self. Like your rolling it. Do this until it creates a donut shape.

Create a donut shape, once you have, then you have created your sock bun! (above picture) Congrats, its reusable! :)

To be easier for everybody to learn, i had my sister do it for me. However its super easy to do yourself as well, you will just need practice. Put your hair into a high pony (or low if you like). So in the above picture, my sister is putting the sock bun (donut) in my hair. Pull your hair through like you beginning to put a (hair pretty, hair pony, hair tie, hair elastic, hair band, etc) in your hair. The above picture is much easier to follow then this direction (<lol).

Take the ends of your hair, and put it into the bun, so put it where your pony tail is. Put the hair under the bun, and back into the hole. Spread the end or your hair around the sock, so that its more even.

This is the most confusing part, so keep calm. What you are going to do is to roll the SOCK with your hair up towards your head. You are doing almost the same motion as you were when rolling the sock up in the first part. So put your pointer finger underneath the sock, and your thumbs where you hair on the outside is (facing you), and turn all those finger as if you were were spinning a light in (like on your ceiling). Your basically rolling the sock onto its self. i would suggest that if this is to hard to do on your self, first practice on a friend, sister, or mom, so you can get how to do it, so then it would be easier to do on yourself.

When you get to your head, look in a mirror and fix anything that needs to be fixed. No clips are needed, as well as no hairspray. But do that if you need to!

Back View, Super Thick and Luscious Right? (:

Side View, Allows Thin Haired People (like me) to Pretend That i Actually Have Enough Hair for a Bun!

Top View, *Tip: For even better results find a sock that is similar to your hair color, so that the sock becomes even more invisible.*
